Intertec Increases E-Mail Availability, Cuts Costs by 37 Percent with Online Software

Intertec Consulting Promotes IT Nearshore Alternatives Conference

Costa Rica a top IT Nearshore Alternative for its workforce, location, international business standards, communications infrastructure, and foreign investment incentives

Keynote speaker Jag Dalal, Managing Director of Thought Leadership of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) and former executive at Xerox, Carrier, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, shared his IT outsourcing perspectives and challenges for today's CIOs given current global economic uncertainty and trends.

Paul Clark, Director of Integrated Service Desk, Intel Corporation, discussed Intel's multi-year service migration to emerging markets, specifically focusing on Intel's IT operation in Costa Rica. Vanessa Gibson, Aftercare Director, Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, CINDE, spoke on Costa Rica's attractiveness as an IT alternative for US-based companies due to the country's workforce, education, communications infrastructure, proximity to the US, business standards, and government partnership programs.

According to Mr. Dalal, in a 2009 IAOP survey of 600 global IT executives, 74% said they plan to do the same or more outsourcing moving forward. "We believe outsourcing may become a key strategy and driver to help some companies pull out of the current economic crisis."
